City ordinances require that driveways be setback at least 5 feet ITom side lot <br />lines. <br /> <br />2. Because of the street improvements currently underway by the City of Roseville, <br />Ms. Kauder's driveway is not in compliance and requires a 16 foot minor variance. <br />To bring the driveway into compliance would require reconstruction to a point <br />within 30 feet of the Fairview Avenue right-of-way, the removal of a mature <br />maple tree and the removal of a very attractive brick planter. <br /> <br />3, The Minor Variance Committee unanimously recommended approval of the <br />variance. It was the Committee's belief that the reconstruction of the driveway <br />and the removal of the tree and planter would create a hardship for the <br />homeowner. <br /> <br />4. All affected adjacent property owners indicated their approval of the proposed <br />varIance. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. Deny the variance based on the rmding that no hardship or practical difficulty <br />exists on the site. <br /> <br />2. Grant the variance based on the fmding that a hardship or practical difficulty is <br />
