Behning
Project Coordinator
City Engineering Department
City of Roseville
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, MN 55113-1899

Re: street Construction/Driveway Setback, City Project
P-94-02-48 - 1828 Draper Drive

Dear Mr. Behning:

Thank you for your kind letter of April 13, 1994 concerning
the subject noted above.

We respond first to the minor variance for the location of
our driveway. Yes, we wish to keep our driveway in its
present location, namely with its east edge beginning about 6
feet from the Fairview Avenue right-of-way rather than
relocating it so that its east edge is 30 feet from the
Fairview Avenue right-af-way for the fallowing reasons.

1. Relocating our driveway would disrupt the symmetry of
the location of driveways on Draper Drive.
2. Relocating our driveway would affect the beauty of
our home because it would place the new entry almost
in line with the front entrance to our house.
3. The cost of relocating our driveway and reclaiming
its former location for lawn or flower beds would
place a severe strain on our budget. We are retired,
and, thus, we are living on a "fixed income".

Thus, we here apply for a minor variance to keep our driveway
in its present location. We have enclosed the following as
requested:

1. Completed Application Form
"2. A check for $25.00 for the variance fee
\ 3. Map of site plan
4. Written approval of adjacent neighbors, namely
(1) Ethel Kauder whose home is directly north of ours
and (2) Ben and Lorraine Kohler whose home is directly
west of ours.
