<br />JULY 12, 1994 <br /> <br />TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: <br /> <br />BRIAN AND SUE CARLSON OF 3102 W OWASSO BLVD, ROSEVILLE, ARE <br />APPLYING FOR A MINOR VARIANCE TO ADD A THIRD CAR GARAGE. WE HAVE <br />THREE REASONS FOR MAKING THIS REQUEST: <br /> <br />1) CURRENT STORAGE CAPACITY OF HOUSE AND GARAGE -IS INADEQUATE. <br />THE HOME WAS ORIGINALLY A COTTAGE CONSTRUCTED IN THE 1940'S AND <br />HAS LIMITED STORAGE. INTERNAL REMODELING EFFORTS HAVE FOCUSED ON <br />BEDROOM EXPANSION WHICH HAS FURTHER LIMITED STORAGE ABILITY. THE <br />CURRENT GARAGE IS A VERY SMALL TWO CAR GARAGE (22' X 24') WHICH <br />ALLOWS FOR EXTREMELY LIMITED STORAGE FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR. THE <br />THIRD CAR GARAGE WOULD ALLOW US STORAGE OF OUR ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE, <br />BIKES, TOYS, ETC. <br /> <br />2) BECAUSE OUR PROPERTY IS ON LAKE OWASSO, IT IS UNDESIRABLE IN <br />OUR OPINION, AND OUR NEIGHBORS AS WELL, TO CONSTRUCT STORAGE ON THE <br />LAKE SIDE OF THE PROPERTY. THERE IS ALSO A STEEP BANK ON THE LAKE <br />SIDE OF THE HOUSE WHICH WOULD MAKE REGULAR ACCESS TO STORAGE <br />VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE. <br /> <br />3) IN THE TWELVE YEARS WE HAVE OWNED THE PROPERTY WE HAVE MADE <br />SEVERAL POSITIVE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PROPERTY. THE ORIGINAL <br />PROPERTY WAS QUITE RUN DOWN AND WAS AN EYE SORE TO THE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD.
