<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />1.Ø Title <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE ISSUANCE OF FRANCHISES FOR THE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF <br />FIBER OPTIC CABLE, COPPER CABLE AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT OVER AND <br />UNDER THE STREETS, RIGHTS OF WAY, EASEMENTS AND PUBLIC PROPERTY OF <br />THE CITY/COUNTY IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROVISION OF WIRELESS <br />TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES. <br /> <br />2.0 Definitions <br /> <br />For the purpose of this resolution and any franchise granted in <br />accordance herewith, the following words, phrases, and their <br />derivations shall have the meaning given herein unless otherwise <br />specifically provided for in this resolution or the franchise granted <br />in accordance herewith or unless the context clearly indicates <br />otherwise or unless such meaning would be inconsistent with the <br />manifest interest of the City/County. <br /> <br />2.1 Engineering Department <br />Means the Engineering department of the City/County. <br /> <br />2.2 Wireless telecommunications system <br />Any system which uses a form of cellular telephony which <br />allows business and residential customers or subscribers to <br />access and/or make telephone calls to each other through the <br />wireless telecommunications system or over the public <br />switched telephone network (PSTN) using small cordless <br />telephone devices which communicate with limited range cells <br />(transmitt~r/receiver sites) connected to a backhaul <br />network. <br /> <br />2.3 Bacikhaul Network <br />The physical network that connects micro cells and pico <br />cells to a central switching point or to the public <br />switched telephone network. <br /> <br />2.4 Micro Cell <br />A transmitter/receive~ system ~sed to communicate to a <br />subscribers handset. Typically with a range of 60Ø-1ØØØ <br />meters. <br /> <br />2.5 pico Cell <br />A transmitter/receiver system used to communicate with a <br />subscribers handset. Typically with a range of 2Ø0-60Ø <br />meters. <br /> <br />2 <br />
