We are asking for a minor variance from the city of Roseville to build a
two-car unattached garage in our side yard. We believe that placing
the garage in the rear of the house is neither practical or feasible.

*Placing the garage in the rear would leave us with a small
backyard.
*If the garage were built in the rear of the house, the driveway
would cut through the rest of the yard 1 leaving our children with no
safe play area.
*The cost of an attached garage is prohibitive, as is the additional
cost of paving a driveway that woutd be approximately 130 ft.
*Building the garage in the rear yard would necessitate cutting
down two spruce trees.
*There is one other house on our block that has its garage in the
side yard.

We would like to build the garage as detailed in the attached diagram.
We believe that the variance should be granted for the above
mentioned reasons,

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Melissa O.
