GUIDELINES TO ROSEVILLE’S COMMUNITY GARDENS AT OASIS PARK <br />Roseville Parks and Recreation provides the Oasis Park Community Gardens for the pleasure of the gardening public. Plots are <br />reserved for Roseville residents only through April 16, 2010.Beginning April 19, 2010, all remaining and non renewed garden plots <br />are available to any adult, residents or non-residents, on a first come first served basis. <br />To ensure a quality experience for all, the following guidelines have been established: <br />stst <br />1) The gardening season runs from approximately May 1 - November 1. The exact opening dates and tilling schedule <br />depends upon weather conditions. <br />2) Plots are available in two sizes: single plot is 15' x 20', and a double plot is 15' x 40'. Plots will be marked prior to the start <br />of the gardening season. Maximum of one double plot per household, please. <br />This includes the borders of your <br />3) Keep your plot as weed free as possible, utilizing cultivation and mulching methods. <br />plot! <br /> A supply of compost will be provided by the city, for use in the gardens. Use of human waste, chemical herbicides <br />and pesticides is strictly prohibited. <br />4) Growing illegal plant materials, or produce intended for sale, is not permitted. <br />5) Please use designated walkways to access plots. Walkways may be mulched. <br />6) Non-organic waste (cans, bottles and plastic containers) should be placed in the trash barrels provided. Organic waste and <br />rocks should be placed in the designated area. <br />7) Three watering stations are provided. Please limit watering to one hour, per plot, per day. Do not leave plots unattended <br />while watering. <br />st <br />8) All produce, plant materials, weeds, stakes, wires, etc. must be removed by November 1 to allow for fall cultivation. Any <br />stth <br />materials left after November 1 will be removed by City staff. Water is shut off approximately Oct 15 weather <br />dependent. <br />9) Cars must be kept on the paved parking area. Pets must be leashed at all times, as in all other city parks. <br />10) The city assumes no responsibility for personal injury, vandalism or loss of produce from the gardens. <br />11) Please be courteous and helpful to your fellow gardeners. <br />12) If you decide you cannot use your produce, please contact the Parks and Recreation Office and we will attempt to make <br />arrangements for it (i.e., food shelf). <br />13) If you decide you will not be planting, or will not continue with your plot, please call the Parks and Recreation Department <br />st <br />at 651-792-7006 to let us know. Garden plots that are not planted by June 1 each year will be considered forfeited, and <br />will be made available to another gardener. Any exceptions to this rule must be approved by Roseville Parks and <br />Recreation, 651-792-7006. <br />14) Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in the forfeit of the garden plot, and the inability to reserve future garden <br />plots. <br />If you have any questions regarding these guidelines, please contact the Park and Recreation Department at 651-792-7006. <br />Messages can be left at that number after regular business hours. <br /> <br />
