RosevilleParkandRecreationSystemMasterPlanUpdate <br />CommunityAdvisoryTeam <br />aĻĻƷźƓŭЏ.ʹtğƩƉtƚƌźĭźĻƭ <br />NOTES <br />8April2010 <br />Page2 <br />Jeffdiscussedthe8conceptplansfor8differentparks,notingthatthere <br />wouldbeaspecialsessionforthecommunitycenter.Henotedthatthe <br />guidelinestheyusedtodeterminetheeightparkswere:inventoryof <br />infrastructureinexistingfacilities,geographicdistribution,opportunities <br />forideasforselectedparkstotranslatewellforimprovementstoother <br />parksinthesystem(i.e.models),andtheinputfromtheCATprocess. <br />Theeightparksselectedare: <br />1.AutumnGrovePark <br />2.OasisPark <br />3.RosebrookPark <br />4.SandcastlePark <br />5.VillaPark <br />6.SouthwestareaofRoseville <br />7.HarrietAlexanderNatureCenter <br />8.CommunityCenter <br />JeffnotedthatmostoftheseparkswereͻƭŷĻƌƷĻƩƦğƩƉƭͲͼmostofwhichare <br />inpoorcondition.Hesaidwearestillformulatingthestrategyfor <br />conductingthedesigncharrettesforthecommunitycenter. <br />ThedesigncharrettesarescheduledforMay19,withasecondͷƩĻƦƚƩƷƚǒƷͼ <br />meetingonJune2. <br />Invitationswillbesentouttoresidentsinsurroundingneighborhoods,and <br />toourlargeremaillist. <br />AttherequestofseveralCATmembers,Jeffagreedtoprovideacopyofa <br />ͻƦğƩƉmasterƦƌğƓͼsothateveryonewouldhaveanideaoftheobjectiveof <br />thecharretteexercise. <br />5Policydirectionsforparks,programs,andfacilities <br />DanCornejoopenedthisitemwithadiscussiononwhatapolicyis,and <br />howpolicyrelatestotheintendedoutcomesthattheCAThasselectedfor <br />thisparkandrecreationsystemmasterplan.Dannotedthatpoliciesfor <br />parks,programs,andfacilitiesneedtobeconsistentwiththepoliciesin <br />therecentlyadoptedComprehensivePlan.Duringdiscussionofthisitem <br />byCATmembers,itwasnotedthattheParkschapterinthe <br />ComprehensivePlanclearlystatesthatthereneededtobeamorefocused <br />andintensiveefforttoprepareamorecompleteparkandrecreation <br />systemplan,involvingextensivecommunityinvolvement.Further,the <br />ComprehensivePlanacknowledgesthatthiseffortmayresultinnecessary <br />amendmentstotheComprehensivePlan. <br />Itwassuggestedthatweshouldproduceanexample,readilyunderstood <br />byeveryone,ofthehierarchyfromdesiredoutcomes,togoal,topolicy,to <br />strategy,sothatallcouldseetheprocessofgoingfromlargerideastohow <br />onemightgettherethroughspecificactions. <br />6Communitymeetingthree <br />DanpresentedthedraftAgendaforCommunityMeetingThreetobeheld <br />onApril21,7:30to9:30pm,attheRosevilleSkatingCenter. <br />Inthediscussiononitem3onthatAgenda,whichdealtwithͻwƚƭĻǝźƌƌĻ͸ƭ <br />constellationofƦğƩƉƭͲͼmostCATmembersfeltthat10notesforthatitem <br /> <br />
