Muriel Sahlin Arboretum Restroom/Multi Purpose Facility (4-5-06)
Preliminary Cost Estimates as Requested
by the Roseville Central Park Foundation
(Below are estimates only with no specific design or engineering completed)
1) Preliminary cost estimates for a full restroom/multi purpose facility includes:
A) 725 sf restroom only ($225.00/sf) $163,125
B) 1193 sf gift shop/service/seating/office ($120.00/sf) $143,160
(costs are dependent on fixtures and interior furnishings and finish)
C) Landscaping for full facility $ 25,000
D) Utility costs (same costs for any building program) $ 50,000
Total for full facility $381,285
Estimated annual maintenance costs $5,000
2) Preliminary cost estimates for a stand alone restroom facility includes:
Building $163,125
Utilities $ 50,000
Landscaping $ 10,000
Total for stand alone restroom facility $223,125
Estimated annual maintenance costs $4,000
3) The additional cost estimates for the 1193 extra multi purpose space includes:
Building $143,160
(costs are dependent on fixtures and interior furnishings and finish)
Additional landscaping $ 15,000
Total $168,160
Estimated annual maintenance costs $1,000
Note: The major cost savings with the additional facility are the utility costs which
remains constant regardless of the size of the building. The extra landscaping costs
reflect the need for additional plantings and hard surface area for the larger facility. The
above costs do not reflect any potential unforeseen site issues that may arise. Soil
borings and additional design work must be done to get a more accurate cost; at this point
these additional studies would require funding for professional engineering and
architectural fees. Final costs are dependent on fixtures, interior furnishings, finish and
determined site condition
