MEMORANDUM <br />To:Parks and Recreation Commission <br />From:Lonnie Brokke <br />Date:February 26, 2013 <br />Tuesday, March 5, 2013 <br />Re: Notes for Commission Meeting on <br />Introductions/Public Comment Invited <br />1. <br />Commissioners and staff will be introduced.Public participationand public comment is <br />encouraged. <br />Approval of Minutes of the February 5, 2013Meeting <br />2. <br />Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of February 5, 2013.Please be prepared to approve <br />or amend. <br />Requested Commission Action <br />:Approve/amend meetingminutesof February 5, 2013. <br />Reservoir Woods Park Verizon Wireless Proposal <br />3. <br />Consideration for an additional cell provider on the Reservoir Woods Park tower continues. In <br />September of 2012, you reviewed and provided general support for aVerizon Wireless proposal <br />that included expanding the footprint of the existing ground space and constructing a11’6” x <br />30’support facility. It has since received generalconsensus from the City Council but similar to <br />you, they areinterestedin beingsure it fits aestheticallyintothe park and that noise does not <br />become a negative factor. If approved, there will be an agreement between the Cityand Verizon <br />Wireless. <br />Included in your packet is aproject proposal including a landscape plan for the area and photos <br />ofa typical Verizon support building. A Verizon representative will be at your meeting to explain <br />theirproposal and answer your questions. <br />As Commissionersand users of the park, please reviewthe materials and be sure tothink about <br />how you feel this proposal fitsinto the park, the potential impacts,and do not hesitate to ask <br />questions and make suggestions on possible improvements sothe best recommendationscan <br />be made for the future of the park. <br />Please be prepared with comments, questions and suggestions. <br />Requested Commission Action: <br />Comments, questions andconsiderrecommendation. <br />Finalize 2013 Commission Meeting Calendar <br />4. <br />Attached is anupdated draft calendar for your consideration. <br />Requested Commission Action: <br />Finalize calendar for 2013. <br />Finalize Commission Goals 2013-15 <br />5. <br />Commissioners Diedrick and Simbeck have been working as a subcommittee, with staff, to <br />draft a set of Commission Goals for 2013-15. Last month the Commission discussed adraft <br />set of goalsfor 2013-15, enclosed is an updated draft copy for your review, discussionand <br />consideration. <br />Requested Commission Action: <br />Review and consider proposed goals. <br />Park and Recreation Renewal Program <br />6. <br />TheBest Value NaturalResource Project Consultant hasbeen identified and we arecurrently <br />in the clarification phase. <br />Seven proposals were received from Playground Vendors. Evaluations of their Project Capability <br />(PC), Risk Plan (RP) and Value Added (VA) are completed with interviews scheduled for <br />stth <br />March 1and March 8. <br /> <br />
