MEMORANDUM <br />M <br />To: Parks and Recreation Commission <br />From: Lonnie Brokke <br />Date: February 26, 2008 <br />Re: Notes for Commission Meeting on TuesdayMarch 4�" 2048 <br />1.Introductions/Public Comment Invited <br />Commissioners and staff will be introduced. Public participation and public comment is <br />encouraged. <br />. Approval of Minutes of the February 7, 2008 Meeting <br />Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of February 7t", 2008. Please be prepared to approve or <br />amend. <br />Requested Commission Action: Approve/amend minutes of the meeting of February 7t", <br />2008. <br />3. HANC Planning Committee Presentation <br />The HANC planning committee has been meeting monthly since April of 2007 and has now <br />completed their work. Richard "Jake" Jacobson, Chair of the planning committee will be at the <br />meeting to review with you their recommendations. <br />By way of background, I have included the request to formulate the committee in your packet. <br />Commissioners Willmus, Brodt Lenz and Stark all served on the committee. <br />The recommendations are expected to be presented to the City Council at their March ,17tH <br />meeting. <br />Requested Commission Action: Comments, questions and discussion. <br />4. Department Review <br />Staff will present a review of the current and upcoming recreation programs, services and <br />projects. <br />Requested Commission Action: Comments, questions and suggestions for recreation <br />programs, services and projects. <br />5. Twin Lakes- McGough Construction Proposal Update <br />As presented at your February meeting, McGough Construction is contemplating a <br />redevelopment of the PIK Terminal site to include a single office building and two multi story <br />office buildings. The PIK terminal is located in the Twin Lakes Redevelopment Area near <br />Langton Lake Park; this item is expected to be a regular update on your agenda due to the <br />proximity of the development to the park. Staff will be prepared to give you the latest <br />information. <br />Requested Commission Action: Review and comment <br />6. Comprehensive Plan Committee Report <br />Commissioner Willmus is your representative to the steering committee for the city <br />comprehensive plan update. Commissioner Willmus will review any committee progress and <br />ask for any appropriate participation, comments, action, etc. <br />Requested Commission Action: Report and comments <br />OVER <br />
