Notes for Commission Meeting on Tuesday_ May 6th, 2008 <br />1. Introductions/Public Comment Invited <br />Commissioners and staff will be introduced. Public participation and public comment is <br />encouraged. <br />2. Approval of Minutes of the April 1, 2008 Meeting <br />Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of March 1, 2008. Please be prepared to approve or <br />amend. <br />Requested Commission Action: Approve/amend minutes of the meeting of April 1st, 2008. <br />3. Department Review <br />Staff will present a review of the current and upcoming recreation programs, services and <br />projects. <br />Requested Commission Action: Comments, questions and suggestions for recreation <br />programs, services and projects. <br />4. JOINT COMMISSION 1 CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />The annual joint City Council/Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting will be held in June,. <br />2008. Date options were discussed at your previous meeting. The options are Monday June <br />161h or Monday, June 30th. The preferred date for the City Council is June 16th. It will most <br />likely be the first item on their agenda at around 6 p.m for 30-40 minutes. It is very important <br />that a. relistic agenda be set, and that there is full attendance. This is really your meeting with <br />the Council to discuss areas of importance to you and the community, and to gather guidance <br />from the them. <br />Please be prepared to identify potential topics that you would like to discuss. Please check <br />your calendars for availablitity on June 16th or June 30th, 2008. Again, June 16th is the <br />preferred date. <br />Requested Commission Action: Finalized meeting date and discuss potential agenda topics <br />S. Comprehensive Plan. Committee Report <br />Commissioner Willmus is your representative to the steering committee for the city <br />comprehensive plan update. Commissioner Willmus will review any committee progress and <br />ask for any appropriate participation, comments, action, etc. <br />Requested Commission Action: Report and comments <br />6. Pathway Committee Report <br />At the last meeting you appointed Commissioner Brodt-Lenz as the Commission <br />representative to the Pathway Committee. The Committee has met once.
