<br /> PRELIMINARY 2009 BUDGET DISCUSSIONS <br />7. <br />Brokke briefed the Commission on upcoming budget process. <br /> <br /> <br />Staff are currently working on 2009 Budget Worksheets <br /> <br /> <br />Health Care and Employee Benefits are having a significant impact on the individual budgets <br /> <br /> DIRECTOR’S REPORT <br />8. <br /> <br /> <br />Distributed City-wide Annual Report to Commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br />Staff is currently working on a City-wide Strategic Plan which will be presented to the Council later in <br />May. <br /> <br /> <br />Staff is also working on expanding CIP to a 10-year plan. <br /> <br /> <br />T-Mobile has not had any more contact on the possible tower addition in Acorn Park. <br /> <br /> <br />Geothermal Update: <br /> <br />All proposals are substantially over budget, 75-150% higher than the feasibility study estimates. <br />o <br /> <br />Costing reviews are taking place in the pre-award phase. <br />o <br /> <br />If there is an opportunity to value engineer portions of the project and not compromise the <br />o <br />outcome, it will be considered. <br /> <br /> OTHER <br />9. <br />Brodt Lenz talked about the parking problem on Victoria near the Softball field in the north-west corner. <br />People park alongside the road and block the view of pedestrians trying to cross at the walk. <br /> <br />Johnson reported back on the MRPA Board and Commission Symposium. He regretted that there was not <br />more time to talk with others in attendance.
