DIRECTORS REPORT <br />7. <br /> <br /> <br />The Master Plan RFP has been authorized and are due back from interested planning groups December 12 <br /> <br /> <br />Work to rejuvenate the Rosebrook and Autumn Grove tennis courts began this fall – the courts will be <br />color coated and striped in the spring. <br /> <br /> <br />OVAL is open for business. <br /> <br /> <br />Thank you to the RVA for providing the holiday lighting around City Hall and the Skating Center. This <br />year’s lighting is LED. The RVA not only provides for the installation of the decorations they also pay the <br />electric bill for the lighting display. <br /> <br /> <br />The State Bonding project at the Skating Center will begin soon. <br /> <br /> <br />2009 Budget Concerns – <br /> <br /> <br />Line items are frozen at 2008 levels <br /> <br /> <br />Diseased and hazardous tree removal line item has been cut resulting in the loss of $48,000 in <br />contractual services <br /> <br /> <br />Accreditation expenses were not included in the final budget. <br /> <br /> OTHER COMMENTS <br />8. <br /> <br /> <br />Tonight is Jeff Johnson’s last meeting as a Parks and Recreation commissioner. Beginning in January, Jeff <br />will be taking his place on the City Council. Jeff thanked everyone for the great experience. <br /> <br /> <br />Bob Willmus will return as Commission Chair after the first of the year.
