The construction company owner who built
the house in 1954, or thereabouts, violated the code by building
the driveway closer to the corner of Wheeler and Shryer than is
permitted. Only yesterday in a letter from Mr. Baron Behning did
we learn of this. A few years ago we spent nearly $4,000 replacing
the old driveway and thereby greatly improving the appearance of
our property.

A driveway within the code would now connect with our living
room instead of our garage and destroy the appearance of our front
yard. It would therefore be unreasonable and unworkable for us now
to be required to measure up to the letter of the code. We
therefore ask the city for a minor variance exemption so that a
mistake over which we had no control will not work to our detriment
and to the detriment of this corner property.

I enclose a check for $25, the application form, approval
signatures of neighbors next door on Wheeler, across the street on
Wheeler and kitty corner on Shryer, exhibits A and B, and the
temporary construction easment form.

If I have overlooked anything, please contact me at home, 646-
5243, or office, 625-9038.

Thank you.

?,

Donald M.
