INTRODUCTION/ROLL CALLIPUBLIC COMMENT INVITED Commissioners and staff will be introduced. Public participation and public comment is encouraged. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF March 6, 2007 MEETING Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of March 6, 2007. Please be prepared to approve or amend. Requested Commission Action: Approve or amend minutes of the meeting March 6, 2007. 3. ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE AND INTRODUCE NEW MEMBER Kathleen Selz was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission by the City Council on Monday, March 261`', 2007. Chair Johnson will officially swear in Kathleen. We welcome Kathleen to the Commission and thank her for her interest in Roseville Parks and Recreation. Kathleen and all Commissioners will briefly introduce themselves and their background. Requested Commission Action: Welcome to the Kathleen Selz and brief introduction of all Commissioners. 4. DEPARTMENT REVIEW Staff will review the current and upcoming recreation programs, services and projects. Requested Commission Action: Comments, questions and suggestions for recreation programs, services and projects. 5. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN DISCUSSION This item has been discussed in previous meetings. The overall City Comprehensive Plan is due to be updated by 2008 and has 11 sections. Section 9 is directly related to Parks and Recreation. I have included this section in your packet minus the appendix pieces, which were included in your orientation materials. The plan is required by the metropolitan council to be updated by 2008. It has been technically updated, primarily by staff, periodically but as you can see it is in need of it again. Staff has been discussing the desired approach for the update as it relates to the Imagine Roseville 2025 and other larger plan needs, i.e. parks and recreation system master plan, individual park master plans, etc. Please be prepared to initially discuss your thoughts on what approach you might see to be best. The ideal situation when doing any sort of City planning is to involve the community as much as possible. Requested Commission Action: Discuss, comment, suggest. 6. PRELIMINARY 2008 BUDGET DISCUSSIONS Budget 2008 discussions are beginning. As staff begins to prepare the budget your input now and along the way is important and valued. This is very preliminary but please be prepared to give input to staff as to what Park and Recreation items you value, items to reconsider and give advice on continued direction of Your Parks and Recreation System. Requested Commission Action: Please be prepared to give input and suggestions on the 2008 budget. OVER
