7. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Commissioner Willmus reported back on the initial meeting of the Comprehensive Planning Committee. The <br />process is consultant driven with the goal of taking the current comp elan. as a starting point then working to <br />down -size the document and align, when possible with recognized Imagine Roseville 2025 initiatives when <br />possible. Next meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 8. <br />CHANGE JANUARY MEETING DATE <br />Motion by Pederson to designate Thursday, January 3rd as the alternative Commission meeting date due to the <br />New Years Day Holiday. Second by Ristow. Passed unanimously. <br />9. DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br />o Thank you to all Commissioners for everything you do to represent and support the Parks and Recreation <br />System and Commission <br />o Ethics Training for Council, all Commissions, Department Heads and Assistant Department Heads has <br />been scheduled for Monday, December 10 at 6pm. Photos at bpm with a program by the City Attorney to <br />follow. <br />o Legislative Session is underway. <br />o Tom Hanson, the State Finance Director is scheduled to tour the Skating Center Complex on <br />November 9 <br />o House Capital Committee is scheduled to tour the Skating Center on November 13 <br />o Senate Capital Investment Committee will be touring the Skating Center on December 13. <br />o Good News is that the OVAL is on their radar. <br />o Geotherinal Update <br />o Options presented to the Council for component replacement of the arena refrigeration system. <br />including direct, indirect and geothennal systems <br />o Council has shown an interest in pursuing Geothermal <br />o Next Step is the conductivity test, currently taking place, results available at the next meeting. <br />o Dale Street Athletic Complex project is completed <br />o Gymnastics Association hosted 250 athletes at the level 3 & 4 state meet last weekend. Thank you to the <br />Gymnastics Association for all that they do for area youth <br />o 623 Run/Walk is scheduled for this weekend <br />o Langton Lake Update — Langton Lake is comprised of 3 bodies of water. The south and middle bodies are <br />divided by a pedestrian bridge. The north body has always had algae and lillie pads, the north and middle <br />bodies are connected by a culvert that has resulted in the lillie pads migrating through the culvert into the <br />middle body of water. We are currently working with the DNR to treat and control (not eliminate) the lillie <br />pads. Currently the water at Langton Lake is incredibly clear. <br />10. OTHER <br />o When will the Park Dedication Fee go to the Council? Possibly November 19 or 26. <br />Motion by Wilhnus, second by Lenz, to recommend to the City Council to stay the Commercial Park <br />Dedication Fee.
