We at Northstar <br />Restaurants, Inc., the area developer franchisee for the upper midwest, provide this infonnation so you <br />may familiarize yourself with our concept prior to the upcoming Planning Commission Meeting. <br /> <br />Boston Market is the fastest growing restaurant concept in the United States today. The company <br />currently has 650 stores open nationwide. We anticipate opening 30 stores in the Twin Cities in the next <br />two years. We currently have eight stores open in Apple Valley, Eagan, White Bear Township, Coon <br />Rapids, West St. Paul, the Highland Park neighborhood of St. Paul, Brooklyn Center, and St. Louis Park. <br />We are under construction in 8t. Cloud, Crystal, Columbia Heights and Chanhassen. We hope to be open <br />in the City of RoseviIle by the middle of the forth quarter. <br /> <br />Boston Market is a unique concept that combines the quality of traditional casual dining restaurants with <br />the convenience of quick service. All of the food is made fresh daily on the premises. The preparation <br />and cooking area comprise two thirds of the space of the building, similar to a full service restaurant. <br />There are no microwaves or deep-fat fryers on the premises. The chicken is marinated for 24 hours and <br />cooked in the rotisserie oven for 90 minutes. The chicken soup, pot pies, and side dishes are made fresh <br />daily and never frozen. The staff begins work at 7:00 a.m. to prepare for an 11 :00 a.m, opening time. <br />The fresh side dish offerings vary by season include Mashed Potatoes, Buttered Corn, Cole Slaw, <br />Zucchini Marinara, Garlic and Dill Potatoes, Stuffing and Tortellini Salad. Recently, Turkey, Ham and <br />Meatloaf were introduced as additional entree items, hence the name change to Boston Market from <br />Boston Chicken. <br /> <br />The food is presented in deli cases and served directly to the customer by servers as they proceed through <br />a cafeteria style line. Residents of the Twin Cities will find this process to be very similar to that of Lee <br />Ann Chin's. Customers can dine in or take their food home. Our typical restaurant seats 55-60 people, <br />and historically approximately half the customers will eat in the dining area. <br /> <br />We welcome you to experience Boston Market first hand at one of our local stores. The White Bear Lake <br />Township store, located at Highway 35E and Highway 96, and/or the Highland Park store at the <br />intersection of Ford Parkway and Cleveland Avenue in 8t.
