.

July 17,

1995

Mr. Steven Sarkozy
City Manager
City of Roseville
2660 Civic Center Drive
Rosevil Ie, MN 55113

RE: Proposed Variance
367 South Owasso Blvd.
Owner: Daniel Oren

Dear Mr. Sarkozy:

At the July 12, 1995 meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission,
there was a recommendation for approval of a variance that would allow
Mr. Oren to build a home on the above named property only 2 feet from
my property line which is located at 365 South Owasso Blvd. I wish to
notify the Commission that I am opposed to this request for variance.

It is my understanding that Mr. Oren was granted a permit for
remodeling of his property. The original idea was that he was going
to remove a portion of the existing building and add on to his home
on the side facing South Owasso Blvd.. However, when the work was
started, the entire structure was demolished. When a worker was asked
what the plan was, he replied that he was going "all the way".

Approval of a 2 foot variance would not even allow enough room for a
sidewalk. There would not be adequate space for any maintenance type
work to be performed without him using my property. I feel strongly
that this would reflect on the value of my property.

Mr. Oren purchased the property knowing that the size of the lot would
not allow for the building of a home the size of the one he wants to
build. He should have investigated the City Ordinaces before
designing and planning to build on this site. It is unfortunate that
he has spent considerable time and money on his plans, but I should
not have to compensate for his error.

Sincerely,

d)~01 (!

LOUISE M.
