REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION Date: 7-28-14 Item No: 7 Staff Approval: Agenda Section: PUBLIC HEARING Item Description: Public Hearing for the sale of Dale Street Fire Station (HF_117) 1 Requested Action 2 3Hold a public hearing and take public testimony regarding the sale of the Dale Street Fire 4Station, 2325 Dale Street, 675 Cope, 667 Cope, 661 Cope, and 657 Cope properties to 5Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation (GMHC). 6Upon conclusion of public hearing, authorize the sale of the properties listed above to 7GMHC. 8 Background 9 10Whenever it sells property, the HRA is required to hold a public hearing to collect public 11comment regarding such sales. Those comments are then considered by the RHRA before 12the transfer of the property occurs. 13The HRA and City Council selected GMHC as the preferred developer for the 14redevelopment of the properties listed above. Additionally, the City has endorsed the project st 15by authorizing (on July 21) the use of TIF District No. 10 and No. 12 funds to assist with 16the $1,169,808 gap identified by GMHC. 17Staff is working to finalize a development agreement with GHMC, which will be presented 18at the August RHRA meeting. The transfer of the property will not occur until all 19requirements of the development agreement have been addressed by the developer. At that 20time the RHRA will pass a resolution for the sale of the property. 21 Staff Recommendation 22 23Hold the public hearing and receive public input.
