<br />October 6, 1995 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RE: NARRATIVE FOR SPECIAL USE PERMIT <br /> <br />Lava Links is a family entertainment center located in the Crossroads Mall in Roseville. We <br />, opened our doors in November of 1991 and are currently celebrating our 4th anniversary. <br />Throughout the years we have continued to change our facility in an effort to provide fun and <br />unique family entertainment for the residents ofRoseville and the surrounding communities. <br />With your approval, we hope to continue this process of improvement and propose the following <br />amendment to our Special Use Pennit. <br /> <br />With your approval in January of 1994, Lava Links leased an additional 1700 square feet of <br />space in which to create a video arcade for amusement devises. At that time we were approved <br />for 36 devices and at this time wish to increase that number by 14. These games appeal primarily <br />to kids ages five to twelve years old. <br /> <br />The addition of 14 morc games will allow us 10 offer more redemption games and a full-service <br />prize counter. This change will give the customers more bang for their buck because they ""in be <br />able to win prizes by redeeming their game tickets. These games will also allow us to better serve <br />our birthday party business and offer each birthday child a prize to bring home. <br /> <br />The effort involved in accommodating these games is very minimal. By eliminating one 10 foot <br />wall in our current space and removing some large games (pool tables) we will be able to fit all <br />of the devices in the approved 1700 square foot space. The type of games to be added are kiddie <br />games, skee ball, and other skill.type redemption games. ' <br /> <br />It is our sincere belief that the addition of these games will in no ""''aY effect the security of our <br />store. Since the addition in January of 1994, no incidents of misconduct have been reported.
