Dale Street Development Update 2 Ms. Kelsey briefly reviewed the status of this project, with preparations underway for the 3 construction bid process, but clarified that the developer was not ready at this point to release 4 final plans or initiate major marketing for the project. Ms. Kelsey advised that the City’s most 5 recent newsletter had included information for residents to call the realtor to be included on the 6 interest list as the project moved forward. 7 8 c. BR & E Educational Outreach with School Districts 9 Ms. Kelsey reported on recent meetings by staff with both School District 621 and 623; and 10 the current lack of programming to provide mentorship for high school students not interested 11 in seeking a four-year degree, but allowing potential employers to align them with the skill set 12 needed in their businesses. Ms. Kelsey opined that such a program would be timely in 13 Roseville, and she found both school districts excited to find out that the RHRA wanted to 14 engage the new immigrant population as well. Ms. Kelsey noted that they found this of great 15 interest, and school staff would also work with the ELL and Alternative High School 16 programs, as well as Adult ELL for those families. 17 18 Ms. Kelsey advised that the next step would be to move forward from those initial discussions 19 and engage community businesses in determining their interest. 20 21 Member Etten reported on his subsequent discussion with the Career and Readiness staff 22 contact at Irondale High School, and his excitement in the program. Member Etten opined that 23 this would provide very positive synergy with the City, interaction of both school districts, and 24 impact regional efforts in a positive way that would further impact families in the City of 25 Roseville. 26 27 Chair Maschka concurred that this was a great project and a step in the right direction. 28 29 d. Foreclosure 30 Based on the input from Ramsey County to incorporate into the RHRA’s database, Ms. Kelsey 31 briefly reviewed foreclosure trends: 32 2014 – (January 1 through May 12) = 11 33 2013 = 14 34 2012 = 22 35 2011 = 32 36 37 Ms. Kelsey noted that those statistics continued to trend down, even though they had 38 fortunately not proven to be overstated in Roseville; and expressed appreciation that there was 39 no evidence that the foreclosures were concentrated in any given area in the community. 40 41 10.
