Interoffice
MEMORANDUM

>>

to:
from:
subject:
date:

Dennis WelschX
Jim Bodsgard ~
EMERGENCY EHICLE ORDINANCE
May 29, 1996

After reviewing the proposed amendments to Chapters 1002 and 1003 of the Roseville City
Code, I find only three small items that need to be addressed:

1. In Section 3 of the proposed amendment regarding City Code Section 1103.021,
add no parking permitted in cul-de-sacs that have an island of grass, shrubs or
other vegetation in the center.

2:. that cul-de-sacs that have islands in the center be constructed with no objects that
would imped the movement of emergency vehicles if it would be necessary to
drive over or through the island, i.e., utility poles or boxes, hydrants, large rocks,
retaining walls, plowed snow or other similar objects.

3. That the cul-de-sac design on the attachment marked Section 1010.18(E) showing
a "V" configuration be removed as an acceptable alternative to 120' hammerhead.

If you have any questions regarding these comments or feel the presence of a representative of
the chiefs staff would be an asset or required at any of the hearings, please contact me.

cc: Chiefs Staff
Fire Marshal Loftus
