<br /> <br />3) Take no further action to change the city requirements, leaving the current <br />setbacks and language in place. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendations: <br /> <br />The staff recommends adopting a common city-wide 150 foot no-wake setback for <br />safety and enforcement purposes, with the effective date on all lakes to be after <br />Roseville and Shoreview have adopted a Lake Owasso joint powers agreement. <br /> <br />Other issues such as the number and location of slalom courses, location of <br />swimming decks/docks, enforcement agents (Sheriff), establish a method of jointly <br />notifying, hearing, and deciding upon surface water uses and permits, speed zones, <br />and water quality monitoring and annual reporting could be addressed in the joint <br />powers agreement. <br /> <br />Suggested Council Action: <br /> <br /> <br />By motion, adopt an ordinance (draft attached) which updates the city code <br />language by establishing a 150 foot no-wake zone on lakes throughout the city, and <br />establishing the effective date of the ordinance to be after Council approval of a <br />Lake Owasso joint powers agreement with the City of Shore view, and publication <br />of the ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />
