<br /> <br />AMENDED JOINT POWERS AGGRIMEN'l' <br />POR <br />LAKE OWASSO WATER SURFACE USE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Cities of Roseville and Shoreview entered into a <br />Joint powers Agreement on April 26, 1983, to regulate Water Surface <br />Use on Lake Owasso. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City Council's of Roseville and Shoreview desire <br />to amend this Joint Powers Agreement. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS azSOLVED, that the Joint powers <br />Agreement is amended to read a8 follow~: <br /> <br />JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />LA]tE OWASSO <br />WATER SURFACE USE <br /> <br /> <br />1. . f;>.RTIES. This Agreement iJS made and entered into by and <br />between the CITY OF SHOREVIEW, a municipal <br />corporation and political subdivision of the State of Minnesota, r <br />(herein "Shoreview"), and the' CITY OF ROSEVILLE, a municipal <br />corporation and political subdivision of the State of Minneso~a <br />(herein "Roseville"). <br /> <br />large public <br />extensively <br />re!=reational <br /> <br />~ECITALS. Lake Owasso is located within the corporate <br />boundaries of Shoreview and Roseville and has a <br />access for boats. The waters of Lake Owasso are used <br />by the public for boating, fishing and other <br />purposes. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Regulation of boating traffic on Lake Owasso is necessary in order <br />to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of <br />Shoreview and Roseville who reside on properties surrounding Lake <br />OWasso and of those people who use Lake Owasso for recreational <br />purposes. By means of this Joint Powers Agreement adopted pursuant <br />to M.S.A. 471.59, 361.26, 378.32 and 459.20; and in compliance wi~h <br />, MCAR 1.0222; Shoreview and Roseville will establish guidelines <br />appl.icable to the adoption of ordinances by each City restricting <br />the speed of watercraft on Lake ow.sso. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />
