A p~).Jd jy <br /> <br />It <br /> <br />J(amsey <br /> <br />Presented By <br />Attention: <br /> <br />Commissioner Sa1verda <br /> <br />Date <br /> <br />iJoverilber 7, <br /> <br />1989 <br /> <br />No. <br /> <br />89-817 <br /> <br />Budget.& Accounting <br /> <br />Norman Vinnes) Director) Libraries <br />~Gary Davis, Assistant County Attorney <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Ramsey County PubllC Library Board has propos~d <br />an addition to the present Ramsey County Public Library located in <br />Roseville, Minnesota; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pursuant to the Laws of Minnesota 1986, Chapter 370, <br />the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners has issued general <br />obligation bonds of the County of Ramsey for the acquisition, <br />betterment, and construction of the Ramsey County library buildings <br />and equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Ramsey County Public Library <br />Resolution, requested that the Board of Ramsey County <br />initiate eminent domain proceedings for the purpose <br />land adjacent to the present Roseville site to be <br />expanding of the present Ramsey County Public Library <br />and <br /> <br />Board has,' by <br />Commissioners <br />of acquiring <br />used for the <br />in Roseville; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Ramsey County Public Library Board has not been <br />able to reach agreements with adjacent landowners for the purchase <br />of the necessary property through direct purchase negotiations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, It is necessary to acquire the land adjacent to the <br />Ramsey County Public Library in Roseville for public library <br />purposes and it is in the best interest of the citizens of Ramsey <br />County, that the land be acqui red through eminent domain, <br />proceedlngs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The four parcels to be acquired are more <br />specifically described in Exhibits A and B (subject to minor <br />description changes), made a part hereof by reference, and on file <br />with the Chief Clerk; Now, Therefore, Be It <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the public interest of the citizens of Ramsey <br />County requires the acquisition of the necessary land adjacent to <br />the Ramsey County Public Library in Roseville described in Exhibits <br />A and B (subject to minor description changes), and the Ramsey <br />County Library Board and the County Attorney are hereby authorized <br />and directed to acquire such land by further negotiations or <br />eminent domain proceedings on behalf of Ramsey County; and Be It <br />FurthEi,r <br /> <br />( J <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the Ramsey County Public Library Board return <br />to the County Board for approval of the final price of any land to <br />be acquired either through further direct purchase negotiations or <br />through emine~t domain proceedings. ~ . ) /1, ' <br />Ha1 Norgard, Chalrman BY"/~'7~r?16,,4--&A <br />' , C hie -/-6W\tU &aJt.d <br />
