A first Council reading was held August 26, 1996.

Specific Details of Ordinance:

The proposed ordinance would require the following:

1. A landscape plan would be required for all new developments.
. 2. The landscape plan must be prepared by a landscape architect registered and
licensed in the State of Minnesota if the construction value is in excess of
$500,000.
3. The plan should incorporate existing landscaping to the maximum extent feasibte
which may be used towards meeting the minimum landscape requirements.
4. The landscape plan shall include size, location, quantity and species of all plant
materials and the method of maintenance.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends that this item be approved after the second reading with any
additions/corrections by the City Council.

Planning Commission Recommendations:

The Planning Commission, atthe August 14,1996 meeting, recommended approval of

1
