DATE:

11/3/97

TO:

Roseville James Addition Neighborhood Task Force members
Dennis Welsch, Roseville Community Development Director

Craig Christenson, Task Force chair ~

draft letter to neighbors attached

FROM:

RE:

I wanted to give you a chance to review this final draft and let you read it early before you
get questions ftom neighbors, Please call me if you have any concerns, suggested
changes, or even totally disagree, I tried to be careful that I correctly phrased issues and
the current status. Just blame any errors on me. It's the truth. I expect it will be mailed
by the city Wednesday morning and in neighbors hands on Thursday the 6th. I tried to
stay away ftom both the voting date and election issues.

This letter/attachment came out longer than I expected, People should not be able to
complain they did not receive enough information. I was planning on attaching the
meeting notes ftom the 5 meetings but maybe that is not necessary. If so, they don't have
to read it if they don't want to, I wonder how many will disagree,

The letter invites neighbors to my house on the 11 th, 18th and 25th, I could use your help
if a crowd arrives or we can use the time to meet and discuss issues further if no one
shows up, It is your call. Please note and come and participate in the discussion with the
Planning Commission at their 12th workshop. By the way, I will be gone deer hunting
ftom this Friday to Sunday.

I tried to draft the attachment as a preliminary to which further discussion and each items
recommendation can be added, Please consider if this is what you prefer for passing along
Task Force recommendations. Dennis W, may have suggestions on typical format.

I have asked Dennis Welsch to give me the names of some developers that I, or you, can
contact about redevelopment options for both the entire neighborhood and the southeast
business area, I thought we should at least attempt to contact them and see if they are
willing to give opinions, Mayor Dan Wall asked if we had done this and I later concluded
that it was prudent and our neighbors might also expect it of us, Any comments or offers
to help with the contacts? You can contact me at home (636-9381), work (602-1176),
