2933 Troseth Road
Roseville, MN 55113
January 31, 1998

City Planner
City of Roseville
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, MN 55113

Re: Mendota Homes, Inc. Request for a Planned Unit Development at Hwy. 88 and
County Rd. C2 (PF#2984)

Dear Sir:

We are residents of Troseth Road which intersects with County Road C2 near Highway
88. We were unable to attend either the Planning Commission meeting or the City Council
meeting recently held nor will be able to attend the February 7 meeting. However, we must
voice one concern that we have and that is the location of the entrance to the planned
development.

Since the installation of the stoplight at Hwy. 88 and C2, traffic has increased on C2.
Drivers use Old Hwy. 8 to C2 and then to Hwy. 88 to avoid the congested intersection at Co. Rd.
D and Hwy. 88. This means there are many times we have to wait a bit longer to safely get off
of Troseth onto C2. That's okay--we are truly happy to have that stoplight. However, there
could be an increased traffic problem if the entrance to the proposed development is placed
anywhere near the intersection of Troseth and C2. Possibly this could be minimized by having
the parking lot entrance placed as far west as possible away from the Hwy. 88 intersection.

Our request therefore is that the City Planner and City Council carefully analyze the
impact of this development on traffic on C2 and make a right decision based on their thoughtful
analysis.

i~~~

Matthias J.
