<br />REQUEST FOR PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br /> <br />DATE: 5-14-97 <br />ITEM NO: PF2896 <br /> <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Manager Approved: Agenda Section: <br />6 (a) <br />National Tire Warehouse, request for a conditional use permit to <br />construct an auto accessory and installation/service store at 2561 <br />Snelling Avenue North (PF#2896). <br /> <br />1.0 REQUESTED ACTION <br /> <br />1.1 No action is being requested of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />This item has been placed on the agenda because a notice advertising the public <br />hearing was published in The Focus. The notice was sent to the paper prior to the <br />establishment of a moratorium by the City Council which affects this request. <br /> <br />2Jl BACKGROUND <br /> <br />2.1 National Tire Warehouse had requested a conditional use permit to construct a <br />facility at 2561 Snelling Avenue North. <br /> <br />2.2 On April 22, 1997, a notice was sent to The Focus regarding public hearings for the <br />May 14,1997, Planning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />2.3 On April 28, 1997, the City Council adopted Ordinance 1181, which prohibits the <br />development and issuing of any permits for any business use and multiple family <br />use in certain designated areas of the City of Roseville (James Addition area), with <br />such moratorium expiring on December 31, 1997. <br /> <br />2.4 National Tire Warehouse was informed that action could not be taken on its request <br />because of the moratorium and the application materials were returned. <br /> <br />2.5 National Tire Warehouse may re-apply for a conditional use permit after the <br />moratorium has expired. <br /> <br />M:\RPCA\PF2896-1.PCA <br />
