REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 08/18/2014 <br /> Item No.: 11.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Public Hearing to Consider Approving a Small Brewer Off Sale Intoxicating <br />Liquor License, an On Sale and Sunday Brewer’s Taproom License and an <br />Outside Sales and Consumption Endorsement for Blume Brauhaus, LLC (Bent <br />Brewstillery) located at 1744 Terrace Drive. <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />Under City Code, a public hearing is required to consider approving liquor licenses for the current <br />2 <br />calendar year. The City has received an application for 2014 Liquor Licenses as follows: <br />3 <br />4 <br />Blume Brauhaus, LLC (Bent Brewstillery) – Small Brewer Off Sale Intoxicating Liquor License <br />5 <br />Blume Brauhaus, LLC (Bent Brewstillery) – On Sale and Sunday Brewer’s Taproom License <br />6 <br />Blume Brauhaus, LLC (Bent Brewstillery) – Outside Sales and Consumption Endorsement <br />7 <br />8 <br />The endorsement will be for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages outside of a structure on <br />9 <br />the licensed premises. Land use has been approved by Community Development. <br />10 <br />11 <br />Neither State Statute nor City Code limits the number of licenses that can be issued for any of the above <br />12 <br />stated license types. <br />13 <br />PO <br />OLICYBJECTIVE <br />14 <br />The regulation of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages has been a long-standing practice by the <br />15 <br />State and the City. <br />16 <br />FI <br />INANCIAL MPACTS <br />17 <br />The revenue that is generated from the license fees is used to offset the cost of police compliance <br />18 <br />checks, background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and license administration. <br />19 <br />SR <br />TAFF ECOMMENDATION <br />20 <br />City Staff recommends that the City Council approve the requested liquor licenses, subject to the <br />21 <br />completion of a criminal background check. <br />22 <br />RCA <br />EQUESTED OUNCIL CTION <br />23 <br />Motion to approve the requested liquor licenses for the remainder of calendar year 2014, subject to the <br />24 <br />completion of a criminal background check. <br />25 <br />26 <br />Prepared by: Chris Miller, Finance Director <br />Attachments: A: Applications from Blume Brauhaus, LLC (Bent Brewstillery) <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />
