Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />June 18, 2014 – Draft Minutes <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />180 <br />July Meeting Discussion <br />181 <br />182 <br />Chair Groff stated Vice Chair Becker and he would not be available for the July meeting. <br />183 <br />184 <br />Commissioner Thai stated the Commission typically does not meet in July. <br />185 <br />186 <br />Commissioner Singleton moved and Commissioner Bachhuber seconded a motion to cancel the <br />187 <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />July 16, 2014 HRC meeting. <br />188 <br />189 <br />Police Department Recognition – Highway 36 Bridge Rescue <br />190 <br />191 <br />Commissioner Singleton stated the Police Report has not been received yet so all the details are <br />192 <br />not available but they would like to recognize the Roseville Police Department and other <br />193 <br />agencies that collaborated with them in regards to the attempted suicide on the Highway 36 <br />194 <br />Bridge. Officer Pitzel had been a lead in resolving this issue and it was a job well done by <br />195 <br />everyone involved. He would like to do a formal recognition. <br />196 <br />197 <br />Ms. Collins stated the Police Chief had stated there were many agencies and officers involved <br />198 <br />and it would be recognized at their annual event. <br />199 <br />200 <br />Vice Chair Becker stated this could be tied into the Commissions goals of metal health <br />201 <br />awareness. <br />202 <br />203 <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated she would look into a process for the Commission to be able to <br />204 <br />recognize individuals in the community that have a connection to the Human Rights Commission <br />205 <br />and its goals. <br />206 <br />207 <br />208 <br />Staff Report <br />209 <br />210 <br />Finance Update <br />211 <br />212 <br />Ms. Collins provided the HRC with a financial update. <br />213 <br />214 <br />Other Items <br />215 <br />216 <br />Ms. Collins stated the essay questions need to be sent to the State Department prior to the start of <br />217 <br />the school year. She provided examples of the 2013 questions. She asked that the questions be <br />218 <br />sent to her and she will put it together for the League of Human Rights. She would need this <br />219 <br />information by the end of July to early August. <br />220 <br />221 <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated they should ask for teacher input and she would contact <br />222 <br />teachers in regards to this. <br />223 <br />224 <br />
