Mr. and Mrs. Sellars requested tabling action in order to <br />provide then with an opportunity to address City staffs concerns and develop a <br />proposal that would be recommended for approval. <br /> <br />1.3 On July 28, 1997, the City Council extended the time line for agency review of this <br />application for 60 days, from August 18, 1997, to October 17, 1997. <br /> <br />2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />2.1 Stuart Sellars and Carole Wedel Sellars own a single family residence at 1199 <br />Josephine Road W, which is located on the southern shore of Lake Josephine. The <br />property is in an R1 Single Family Residential District, and the Comprehensive Plan <br />identifies this property as Low Density Residential. The property is also within the <br />shoreland management district for Lake Josephine, a Minnesota Department of <br />Natural Resources designated shoreland (ID#57P). Adjacent land uses include <br />single family residential to the east, south, and west; and Lake Josephine to the <br />north. <br /> <br />2.2 Mr. and Mrs. Sellars are requesting a variance from Section 1016.16A to reduce the <br />setback from the ordinary high water level (OHWL) of Lake Josephine to 22 feet for <br />the purpose of replacing a 12' x 16' (192 square feet) detached accessory structure <br />with a 442 square foot addition to the existing single family dwelling.
