C-2 <br />Roseville, MN 55113 <br /> <br /> <br />June 11, 1997 <br /> <br />Re: Possible illegal bome occupation <br /> <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br /> <br />The City of Roseville has received a complaint regarding a possible illegal home occupation at <br />your address. <br /> <br />Below, I have copied the applicable city code regarding residential districts. <br /> <br />1004.01: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS IN ALL RESIDENCE DISTRICTS: <br /> <br />G. Home Occupations: . <br />1. Restrictions: Pennitted home occupations shall not be conducted in any building on the <br />premises other than the building which is used by the occupant as the private dwelling, and not <br />more than one room may be used for such purposes. (Ord. 275, 5-12-1959) <br />2. Employees: Permitted home occupations shall not include the employment of any persons not <br />residing on the premises in the performance of such occupation, nor the use of mechanical <br />equipment other than is usual for purely domestic or hobby purposes; and further shall not <br />include exterior display or signs except as are permitted by the sign regulations for residence <br />districts2. <br />3. Exterior Storage Prohibited: There shall be no exterior storage of equipment or materials <br />used in pennitted home occupations. <br />4. Prohibited Home Uses: Permitted home occupations shall not include any of the <br />following: <br />a. The operation of any wholesale or retail business unless it is conducted entirely by mail and <br />does not involve the sale, shipment or delivery of merchandise on the premises. <br />b. Any manufacturing business, barber shop or beauty shop, dancing or musical school with <br />organized classes of more than one pupil at a time, commercial stable or kennel or any activity <br />producing noxious matter or perceptible noise beyond the lot line.
