<br />HOME OCCUPATIONS <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE PROVISIONS <br /> <br />1. The home occupation must be accessory and subordinate to the principal <br />residential use of the property. <br /> <br />2. Employees would be limited to residents and one non-resident. <br /> <br />3. Exterior alterations which change the residential character of the dwelling would not <br />be allowed (separate entrance to business). <br /> <br />4. Interior alterations which change the residential character of the dwelling would not <br />be allowed (converting kitchen to showroom). <br /> <br />5. Operation of the home occupation would be limited to the principal structure and <br />must be conducted completely within the structure. <br /> <br />* No use of accessory buildings (studio vs. office vs. auto repair) <br />* No exterior display or storage <br />* Limit area of home occupation to 25% of dwelling <br /> <br />6. The amount of parking for the residential use must be retained for that use. The <br />parking of vehicles not customarily found in residential areas would not be allowed. <br />The number of additional vehicles at a time would be limited to two. <br /> <br />7. Signage is limited to one sign up to three square feet in area. The sign must be <br />non-illuminated and placed on the building, not in the front yard. <br /> <br />8. The hours of operation would be limited to 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (exterior activity) <br /> <br />9. The home occupation cannot generate more than 10 trips per day (5 customers). <br /> <br />10. Any deliveries must be from vehicles customarily found in residential areas. <br /> <br />11. Noise must not exceed residential standards (customarily found). <br /> <br />12. Cumulative affect of multiple home occupations cannot exceed standards. <br /> <br />13.
