EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 25th day of August, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. The following members were present: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee, Roe and the following members were absent: None. Councilmember McGehee introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 11171 DECLARE COUNTY ROAD B TO BE AN URBAN DISTRICT FROM THE WESTERN TERMINUS TO CLEVELAND AVE AND ESTABLISHING THE STATUTORY SPEED LIMIT OF 30 MILES PER HOUR WHEREAS, on August 12th, 2014, County Road B from Cleveland Ave west to its western terminus was officially transferred to the jurisdiction of the City of Roseville; and WHEREAS, the current speed limit on County Road B is 40 miles per hour; and WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statutes 169.14 Subdivision 5b allows the governing body of a City or town to declare any street segment of at least a quarter-mile.in distance as an urban section if the segment meets the definition of an urban section; and WHEREAS, the statutory speed limit of an urban section is 30 miles per hour. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, that County Road B from Cleveland Ave to the western terminus of County Road B be declared an urban section. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City staff is directed to forward this resolution to the Minnesota Department of Transportation and upon their acknowledgement post the statutory speed limit on this segment of roadway as 30 miles per hour with the appropriate signs as necessary. The motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Etten and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee; and Roe and the following voted against: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
