t.O Areas Requiring special Attention

The following areas containing friable ACM re~ire, in our
opinion, special attention because they are e1ther damaged,
accessible to damage or in their present condition represent
a significant potential for asbestos fiber release ana
subsequent human exposure.

4.1 Boiler Room and Tunnels (Figure 1)

The asbestos-containing fittings have isolated damage in
the boiler room and tunnels. The ~ater heatin~ tank also
has isolated damage. Exposed asbestos insulat10n creates
the ~otential for fibers to become airborne. Damaged
fitt1ngs and tank insulation should either be repaired or
removed and replaced with nonasbestos insulation.

4.2 Throughout the Facility (Figure 3)

9" X 9" floor tiles cover the majority of the facility.
Some areas have carpeting over the floor tiles. These
tiles are brittle and there is isolated damaged in a
variety of areas. The floor tile need not be removed
until aemolition of the building.

5.0 COST ESTXMATES FOR REKOVAL
1. Thermal Fittings Insulation = $ 3,000.00
2. Thermal Pipe Insulation = $ 85.00
2. Thermal Water Heater Insulation = $ 1,200.00
3. Floor Tile = $ 11,250.00
4. Reinsulation/Retiling = $ 11,000.00
5. Contractor supervision = $ 3,500.00
and Air Monitoring
Total = $ 30,035.00

Repair ot the damaged insulation would be a less costly
option. Small scale removal and repair of the damaged
aSbestos-containing materials could be accomplished in two to
three days. An approximate cost estimate is $3,500.

lOR COK'tD ASBBSTOS REPORT

PAGB 6
