. .. .

e

--

EXHIBIT #3

-- ----

#11 We propose to place our one and only identifying logo
in the form of a free standing sign that meets all sign
code requirements, except that of gross area of 100 sq. ft.
as described in Ordinance Ilt.590-(#5).- The minimum Arby's
sign available as ~er attached sketch contains 124 sq. ft.
The variance then requested is an additional 24 sq. ft.

The Arty's logo sign Hill be modified from the attached
sketch to one single supporting pole from the ground~
!'ather than the double. col.urm:s, to enhance the appearance
of the area. The sign will be placed:

.)
A. 20 feet north of south lot line, ~" feet from west
edge of sign to fir'st parking stall ~ and 18 feet
south of existing driveway (meets Section 14.580-(#3).

B. ';Ie request that "the easterly or front edge of the sign
be permitted to be placed 14 feet from the front lot
line. The single supporting pole will be 20 feet from
the front lot line. We aTe, therefore, requesting a
variance of l!~' -G" .

\
I

#12 In our opinion, we would suffer undu~ hardship, and in all
probabilities would be unable to obtain Arby's International
(franchisor) approval of this site and list the following
reasons:

A. Because of the existing signs on both McDonalds and
I1r. Donut proper-ties immediately to our south that
are large and placed on their respective front
property lines, these variances are needed for
acceptable visability from Snelling Avenue using a
sign of only 12u sq. ft. facing.

B. ~e have completely redesigned the already recognizab:e
Arby's building to one that will offer greater customer
convenience. However a readily seen sign Hhich is
our nationally L'ecognized trademark is essential to
the reali~ation of this project.
