(Continued from January, 1998) <br /> <br />2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />2.1 Roseville Area Schools is requesting approval of an overall signage plan for <br />Roseville Area High School located at 1240 County Road 82 West. The 48 acre <br />parcel is designated as School in the Comprehensive Plan and is located in an R1, <br />Single Family Residential District. Adjacent land uses include low density <br />residential to the north and west, medium density residential to the east across <br />Lexington Avenue, and Highway 36 to the south. <br /> <br />2.2 Roseville Area Schools is proposing to upgrade and unify the signage for Roseville <br />Area High School. The overall sign package as proposed includes: <br /> <br />1) a 8' high - 50 square foot monument sign along County Road 82 West; <br /> <br />2)(twQ70_squareJooeRos.evilte-Area-Hig~ctiool~_waIlJ~i~ns_oOJthe south side of <br />the building (visible from Highway 36 West); <br /> <br />3)~~parate'faciliW-identification_signs.above.the-main-doorwayS;identifying the <br />main entrances for "Administration," "Gymnasium," or "Theatre"; and <br />- ~~~~~~ <br />4) tnree=4~5_squareJootJ:lirectional-signs",~oUnty-Road.82-anctwitnin.tne.pai"KiOg> <br />CfO!l <br /> <br />The issues regarding #1 including sign design, message, placement, and size <br />have not been resolved, however, the other sign issues #2 through #4 have <br />been reviewed and are ready for approval. <br /> <br />2.3 Section 1009.048 of the City Code outlines the signage requirements for <br />institutional uses. Since these requirements do not adequately address the overall <br />signage for an institutional campus situation, it has been the City's policy to have <br />the overall signage plans reviewed and approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />PF2980 - RCA (01/12/98) - Page 1 of 2 <br />
