The 48 acre
parcel is designated as School in the Comprehensive Plan and is located in an R 1,
Sin'gle Family Residential District. Adjacent land uses include low density
residential to the north and west, medium density residential to the east across
Lexington Avenue, and Highway 36 to the south.

2.2 Roseville Area Schools is proposing to upgrade and unify the signage for Roseville
Area High School. The overall sign package as proposed includes: 1) a 8' high -
50 square foot monument sign along County Road 82 West; 2) two 70 square foot
"Roseville Area High School" wall signs on the south side of the building (visible
from Highway 36 West); 3) three separate facility identification signs above the main
doorways identifying the main entrances for "Administration," "Gymnasium," or
"Theatre"; and 4) three 4.5 square foot directional signs on County Road 82 and
within the parking lot.

2.3 Section 1 009.048 of the City Code outlines the signage requirements for
institutional uses. Since these requirements do not adequately address the overall
signage for an institutional campus situation, it has been the City's policy to have
the overaU signage plans reviewed and approved by the City Council.

2.4 At the January 12, 1998 meeting the Council tabled action to await
morecollaborative solutions that would include community facilities within the school
campuses. In addition, the Council asked for more detail on the design of the signs,
to include interior lighting on the ground signs facing County Road 8-2.

PF2980 - RCA (01/26/98) - Page 1 of 1
