The granting of these variances to allow a
subdivision of the property and the construction of an additional residence would have a
very negative impact ~pon our rights to enjoy our property as well as decrease the value
of our property. When we purchased our property we understood that some of the lots
were of sufficient size to be subdivided,. such as the Weyandt property to our west. but
that the properties to the east were of insufficient size to subdivide. We relied upon the
regulations contained within your zoning code to guarantee that the density, views and
open space would remain relatively unchanged to the' east. We weren't thrilled when the
Weyandt property was subdivided, but we stood behind there right to subdivide and
build. because their property mct the zoning requirements.

The DeFlorian property is notoDly too small in area, it is also too narrow in width.
Granting of these variances would simply profit those collecting upon the Estate of Max
DeFlorian at our expense. Max DeFlorian was a very good neighbor to us, but we see no
reason that his Estate should profit at our expense. We are also alarmed at the thought of
the preced~t tbat this might set in our neighborhood. We trust that you will uphold the
MINIMUM standards set forth in the code and recommend rejecting this application. We
thank. you for your efforts.

s~:~

Brian J.
