Materials were moved into and out of this site during late hours during the emergency Mississippi River flood situation in 1997. 2.3 A portion of the site (approximately 4.4 acres known as Lot 7) has also been considered for a family transitional housing project which would be located on the south edge of the site, adja~nt to Larpenteur Avenue. This project, still in the planning stages, would include approximately 20,000 sJ. of building, including 55 rooms which will house between 55 to 62 residents, for periods averaging 11 to 12 days. Seventy percent of the residents will be children; most of the families will be one parent (mother) households. The project would cost over $3 million and would require a rezoning of the property and/or designation as a Planned Unit Development. New sidewalks and driveways would be installed along Larpenteur from Kent to Dale Street for this project if built on this site.
