<br />Strengthen: Improve a....ld reinforce the desired goal through the use of City policies, staff <br />and financial assistance, if needed. <br /> <br />Support: Supply the needed staff support, policies and financial assistance, if needed, at <br />all levels to achieve the desired goal. <br /> <br />Work: Cooperate and act in a manner through the use of City staff, actions, policies to <br />create the desired goal. <br /> <br />The vision, goals, and policies set forth below are not to be considered as a comprehensive and <br />complete statement of the total goals and aspirations of the people of Roseville; They do, <br />however, relate to the social and economic development, as well as the physical development of <br />the City and for which the City Council has a primary responsibility. <br /> <br />,"" <br /> <br />The vision and goals are general objectives applying to the entire community. After the goals, <br />there is a listing of specific policies relating to the various facilities, land uses, and areas of <br />concern. These policies are the proposed methods of action the City will follow or use to <br />complete the stated goals. <br /> <br />VISION <br /> <br />Roseville shall be a community which has as its highest priority the quality oflife--both for those <br />who live here and for those who work here. RosevilIe shall be committed to preserve, promote, <br />and improve the beauty, vitality, safety, and serenity of the total environment in which its citizens <br />live and work. Further development of business and industry, shopping, transportation, housing, <br />entertainment, leisure and recreation opportunities shall be in harmony with the commitment <br />. RosevilIe has made to its environment and quality of life. <br /> <br />A. GENERAL LAND USE GOALS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Maintain and improve the community character and identity; encourage projects <br />which strengthen our children, families, and neighborhoods. <br /> <br />72 <br /> <br />Maintain the existing residential areas of the City as designated on the currently <br />adopted land use plan, IdentifY and maintain approximately the same balance (or <br />same percentages) of the various land uses throughout the community, allowing <br />for some flexibility. <br /> <br />~> 3 <br /> <br />Eliminate blight and prevent deterioration of buildings and infrastructure.
