EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 4th day of March 2002, at 7:00 p.m. The following members were present: Schroeder, Kough and Kysylyczyn. and the following were absent: Klausing and Maschka. Council Member Schroeder introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 9979 SUPPORT FOR THE REUSE OF TCAAP PROPERTY WHEREAS, the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) encompasses approximately 2300 acres in the northern 1/3 of the City of Arden Hills; and WHEREAS, TCAAP is currently owned and under the jurisdiction of the United States Department of Defense; and WHEREAS, the property has not supported significant Department of Defense operations since 1972; and WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has identified the property as a key redevelopment priority for the community, adjacent communities, and the region; and WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills is actively seeking the release of all land currently not being considered for use by the Minnesota Army National Guard to be utilized consistent with the Vento Reuse Plan adopted in 1996; and WHEREAS, a map outlining the general area for potential acquisition is included as "Attachment A", and a copy of the 1996 Vento Reuse Plan is included as "Attachment B", and WHEREAS, the I-35W Corridor Coalition Board of Directors has identified the site as a priority requiring legislative action, intergovernmental cooperation, and support from one or more Coalition members; WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has a concerted interest in the cooperative reuse of TCAAP; and WHEREAS, the release of land for development, recreational, regional purposes has the potential to benefit the City of Roseville. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council ofRoseville, is supportive of actions and policy statements outlined in City of Arden Hills Resolution #02-14 to facilitate the reuse of TCAAP.
