Mendota Homes; for 3261 Old Highway 8; Rezoning Request. <br />PlanningCommisgioner Chris Makowske was present to report on the issues addressed at the <br />Oecember 16. 1997, Planning Commission Meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Makowske reported that Mendota. Homes is requesting a rezoning of the <br />property located at 3261 Old Highway 8 to an R-4 zoning designa.tion from a Light Industrial <br />zoning designation tor purposes of constmcting a senior home in that area. The property is <br />currently a parIPng lot and will continue to be used as a parking lot with a reduc.tion in the <br />amount of impervious surface and an increase in landscaping. The adjacent property is zoned <br />residential and this rezoning would make the two properties consistent. <br /> <br />Commis~ioner Mukowske reported the Planning Commission discussed this request briet1y and <br />all were impressed by the project. The Plan.n.i11g CClmmission voted unanimously to <br />recQmmend approval of the rezoning request. <br /> <br />Cavanaugh sta.ted this looked 1ike a good project and asked the: developer if this proposal was <br />in connection with the pr~ject on 33<<1 Avenue and Highway 88, <br /> <br />lohn Mathern, Mendota Homes, provided a brio;f summary of the project. It will include a <br />30-umt. condominium in the City of RoseviIle and a 30-unit senior rental building on the <br />parcel located in the Cities of 81. Anthony and Roseville. The parcel located in St. Anthony <br />will be used for parking. The parking has been reduced from 45 parking spaces and two <br />entrances, to 39 parking spa.ces with one entrance off Old Highway 8. An informational <br />meeting had been held with the residents 111 the vicinity of the project. MO$t of the attendees <br />were residents of the Executive Condominium Building.
