<br />2.4 Section 703.048, City Code, states "residential driveways shall be constructed so <br />that the edge of the driveway nearest to the side lot line shall be a minimum of five <br />feet from the side lot line. II <br /> <br />~ STAFF COMMENT/RECOMMENDA TION <br /> <br />3.1 Requests were received from all property owners in accordance with City policy. All <br />requests included an application form, sketch of the driveway, and written approval <br />from the adjacent property owner affected by the variance. <br /> <br />3.2 Staff recommends approval of the blanket variances based on the following findings: <br /> <br />1. The existing setback from the adjacent property line will not be reduced for <br />any of the properties listed. <br /> <br />2. The width of the driveway will not exceed 26 feet at the property line for any <br />of the properties listed. <br /> <br />3. The proposed blanket variances are in harmony with the general purpose <br />and intent of the City's Comprehensive Plan and Title 10 of the City Code <br />(Zoning). <br /> <br />4. The blanket variances, if granted, will not adversely affect the public health, <br />safety, or general welfare. <br /> <br />4Jl SUGGESTED ACTION <br /> <br />4.1 By motion, approve the following blanket variances based on the findings outlined <br />in 3.2. <br /> <br />1. Richard Pickhartz, 2424 Churchill Street North, to reduce the driveway <br />setback to less than one foot along the west property line for the purpose of <br />bringing an existing driveway into compliance with Section 703.04B, City <br />Code. <br /> <br />2. Mary Frances Smith, 3070 Shorewood Lane, to reduce the driveway setback <br />to zero feet along the north property line for the purpose of bringing an <br />existing driveway into compliance with Section 703.04B, City Code. <br /> <br />3. Richard Leier, 2473 Churchill Street North, to reduce the driveway setback <br />to zero feet along the north property line for the purpose of bringing an <br />existing driveway into compliance with Section 703.048, City Code. <br /> <br />4.
