<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />DATE: OS/26/98 <br />ITEM NO: G-7 <br /> <br /> <br />Agenda Section: <br />CONSENT <br /> <br />Randall Dyson request for reconsideration of a minor variance to <br />allow the continuance of a boulevard parking space at 2474 Churchill <br />Street (PF#3016) <br /> <br /> <br />1.0 REQUESTED ACTION <br /> <br />1.1 Randall Dyson is requesting reconsideration of a minor variance to allow the <br />continued use of an existing gravel boulevard parking space (parking on the right-of- <br />way between the curb and the property line) at 2474 Churchill Street. <br /> <br />Drivewav Reauirement <br /> <br />Proposal <br /> <br />Variance <br /> <br />Side yard setback - 5' <br /> <br />4' setback <br /> <br />l' variance <br /> <br />Boulevard parking - 20' extension <br />onto property from front lot line <br /> <br />10' extension <br /> <br />10' variance <br /> <br />This request was denied by the City Council on April 27, 1998 and referred to the <br />staff to suggest alternatives; however, Mr. Dyson is asking that the request be <br />reconsidered based on errors in the site plan (boulevard parking space extends 10 <br />feet onto his property rather than one foot as shown on the original site plan) and <br />previous actions by the City Council to allow continuance of similar boulevard <br />parking spaces. <br /> <br />2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />2.1 Randall Dyson owns a single family residence at 2474 Churchill Street. The <br />property is located in an R-1 Single Family Residential District and all adjacent land <br />uses are single family residential. <br /> <br />2.2 The boulevard parking space on this property is listed on the inventory of boulevard <br />parking spaces regularly in use, dated June 30, 1984. When Ordinance 962 was <br />adopted in September 1984, existing boulevard spaces on this inventory were <br />allowed to continue until roadway improvements involved the disturbance of the <br />boulevard or substantial improvements were made to the property. Project 98-02 <br />for Neighborhood 31 will involve disturbance of the boulevard on this property. <br /> <br />PF#3016b - RCA (05/26/98) - Page 1 of 3 <br />
