Urban Design Enhancements_ <br /> <br />This section establishes me cross-section and design trearmenrs for me Twin <br />I...a.kes Parkway and it identifies all additional urban design and landscaping <br />enhancements which should be included in the total Twin Lakes district <br />redevelopment and upgrading program. <br /> <br />A. TWIN lAKES PARKWAY DESIGN <br /> <br />The issues that need to be resolved for the Twin Lakes Pumy are: <br /> <br />. Number of rraffic lanes required and provisions for ruming <br />movements <br /> <br />. Trails and walkways <br /> <br />. Overall cross-section <br /> <br />. Urban design and landscaping tre:uments <br /> <br />1. Traffic Lanes and Turn Lanes. The firsr issue that needs to be addressed <br />are me traffic circulation characteristics for me proposed Pumy. How <br />many driving lanes should be provided and what provisions should be <br />made for turning movements? An assessment of me proposed land uses in <br />the district and the corresponding trips generated by these uses shows that <br />theAveragc Daily Trips (ADn on the Twin Lakes Parkway is forecast to <br />be approximately 14,500 vehicles a day by the year 2010. A three-lane <br />roadway, meaning a two-lane road with left-rum lanes at all major access <br />points would be sufficient to accommodate the projected traffic volumes. <br /> <br />In terms of additional turn lanes, the recommendation is to provide <br />right-cum lanes at all major cross-streets including Cleveland Avenue, <br />Mount Ridge Road, Arthur Street, and Fairview Avenue. <br /> <br />2. Trails and Walkways.
