Schwindel
2465 Churchill Street
Roseville, MN 55113-3317

RE: STREET RECONSTRUCTION, CITY PROJECT P-98-02-31

Dear Mr. Huppertz and Ms. Schwindel:
I

As part of the upcoming street project on Churchill Street, the City will have the contractor
remove and replace the boulevard portion of residential driveways. The City Engineering
Department has examined all driveways for code compliance and existing and proposed grades.

The City of Roseville requires that all driveways be brought into compliance with City Code
during a permanent street upgrading. Driveways must be a minimum of five feet from
neighboring property lines and be "hard surfaced", i.e. bituminous, concrete or bricks. Currently,
the south edge of your driveway is less than five feet from your south property line. In order to
comply with City Code, the south edge of your driveway in the boulevard would have to be
reconstructed five feet north of your south property line.

Yau may apply to vary from City Code by applying for a "minor variance". I have enclosed an
application for a minor variance if you would prefer this option. If approved, your driveway
would be legal and no change of location would be necessary. You may have the City's contractor
pave the boulevard during this project or you may have your own contractor perform the work.

Sincerely,

foc.-.i4

Baron H.
