RCMnet.org

August 5, 1998

To: Steve Sarkozy
From: Bob Bierscheid
Re: Prince of Peace Proposal Comments From Parks and Recreation
Commission
CC: Dennis Welsch

The Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission, at their August 4 meeting,
made the following comments regarding the proposed Prince of Peace Church
project next to Central Park :

COMMISSIONER
Don Anderson:

COMMENTS
(Please see attached questions), Prefer R110t as
parkland and working with Church to provide shared
parking. At a minimum, Church and City need to work
together to minimize impact.

Kelley Casey

Prefers option B on site map. It has least impact on
neighbors' view of park. Trees need to be left as a
buffer to park and install initially as few parking
spaces as possible and add more later if needed.

Dennis Malarkey

In best of all worlds would prefer park space, but plan
has merit. Prefers site plan B and pleased it would
provide additional taxes to City. Parks and
Recreation Commission needs to continue to be
involved with project.

Tony McGinnity

Again, In best of all worlds would prefer park space
but ok with plan as long as Church is willing to work
with City and neighbors to limit impact.

George Merrill

Would like more details on plans. Likes the idea of
senior housing near the park.
