Lee. Kim

From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:

Barbara Lyman [barb.lyman@pclink.com]
Thursday, December 03,19989:38 AM
kim.lee@ci.roseville.mn.us
proposed senior housing project

r'"'1-I\.~
\1)-7

I am writing in support of the proposed senior housing project near Central
Park and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. I am live in Roseville,
regularly use Central Park, and live less than one mile from the park.

The proposed senior housing would be inobtrusive. The roof line would not
be visible from across Bennett Lake, for example. A well built and well
managed residence adjacent to the park would have no trouble attracting
quality tenants.

As I understand it, the land exchanges would give Prince of Peace Lutheran
Church more parking. The increased parking would also not be visible from
the rest of the park. Churches contribute to the fabric of community and
our high quality of life. I believe they should be supported to grow and
reach out to more families in Roseville.

The need for senior housing will increase as more and more people are
living longer lives, and as the "baby boom" generation moves into its
golden years. In my opinion, this project would be a great benefit to both
seniors and the community. Seniors would be able to continue to live (and
pay taxes) in Roseville. The presence of more seniors in the Roseville
community would be a stablizing influence.

In conclusion, I believe it is in the community's best interest to support
this project.

Thank you for listening,
Barbara Lyman
2836 Merrill Street
Roseville, MN 55113

Phone: (651) 604-9342
Email: barb.lyman@pclink.com

Barbara Lyman, Owner
Alternative Designs

1
